Best Book Recommendations uses personal information only to operate the service described on this website. Reader profiles and recommendations are not public.

What we collect

For readers, we store your first name, surname, preferred name, email address, questionnaire answers, a reading-relevant profile inferred from those answers, recommendation history and the dates used to enforce the seven-day limit.

For book submissions, we store the title information, contact details and submission material you provide.

How it is used

Reader information is used to choose, send and improve personalised fiction recommendations, prevent duplicate recommendations, enforce weekly eligibility and, where enabled, send a reminder to inactive readers. We do not create medical or diagnostic profiles.

Services involved

The application stores records in its hosted database. Google Books receives book-search concepts, but not your name, email address or answers. Resend receives the email address and message content required to deliver recommendation and reactivation emails.

What is never public

Real names, email addresses, answers, profiles and recommendation histories are available only to the service’s authorised administration.

Your choices

You can stop using the service at any time. To ask about, correct or request deletion of your data, reply to an email sent by Best Book Recommendations. A deletion request may require identity verification.
